MONKEY PARTY

Most Thai people are Buddhist. They think that monkeys are very important animals. Why? There is a famous old legend about a monkey hero. His name was Hanuman. He saved god Rama's wife from the demon. And because of this he became a hero.

This is why many people in Thailand today are really kind to monkeys. During festivals and celebrations people give food to them. They also bring food for the monkeys to shrines. Many people think it's good karma to give these animals food. They also hope it will bring them good luck.

Some cities even have special parties for the monkeys. And they make special cakes for them! Usually, these parties are a big success.
